Name: Wael Dawoud Abu Sultan

Date of  martyrdom: August 16^th, 2006

Hometown: Hamama city

Resident town: Al-Rimal in Gaza City

He passed away to defend his country from the settlers. He was a great man, he loved his country. Despite of living outside the homeland, he chose the way of liberating and defending  the land.

Background:

Wael was born on 7^th of April, 1980 in Libya, he passed away in 16^th of August,2006. He was living in Al-Rimal district, middle of Gaza city, when he passed away.

His father cared a lot about his education  . So Wael was a talented student that he liked the structured games which increase the intellectual skills. He participated in the summer camps. His supervisors in these camps witnessed that he is a very intelligent boy.

Coming to homeland:

Despite of his birth in Libya, out of  his country, he was thinking a lot of it. He left his friends in Libya and went back to Gaza. His dream about Gaza wasn't an imaginative one. He insisted on being back as he planned in his childhood.

Returning back:

When he came back to Gaza, he joined to the Computer department in Al-Azhar University. Meanwhile, Wael joined to the Islamic Block. He worked in public missions in the movement.

A Good Relation with his mother

Wael had a good relationship with his mother. When he want to leave his mother for a long time, he comes to her in order to be sure about her health. Wael also had a wonderful features such as calmness, politeness, sereneness and faithfulness. He was speaking with his friends in a quite voice.

The herald:

He was performing his prayers at the mosque with his friends , he loved the martyr Ismail Al-Ma'asawabi. He was visiting the martyrs families.

Joining to Al Brigades:

Wael joined Al-Qassam Brigades in 2000 in the beginning of Al Aqsa intifada, he was one of the first men who took training to carry weapons and the military work. He was fond of resistance despite his family refuse.

He joined to the Al Qassam Brigades after he asked a field commander in the Brigades that he like to work in the manufacturing service. After a year, he leadership agreed to accept him in the device.

The inventor:

Wael tried to find the alternatives to make explosive materials. The Zionist entity was preventing these materials from entering Gaza.

He made a small laboratory inside his house despite of the danger that might happen from this laboratory. Wael was brilliant in mixing the materials in order to producing new materials, he was also intelligent in knowing the properties of the materials as well.

Lentils and rockets manufacturing:

Before a week of his martyrdom, the Zionist forces shelled the van which was taking Wael and the martyr "Atef Habib", but Allah saved them from this incident. In the day after, Wael met his family and he was laughing at the children who was saying that Hamas is using lentils in rockets manufacturing.

The day of martyrdom:

Wael was with one of the manufacturing groups. The group was preparing explosive materials. They were making a new material that they have never made before. Wael at this moment asked them to extinguish, but one of his friends said that we want to increase the period to see the result of reaction obviously.  

Loved his family:

He have two children; a boy and a girl. He passed away when his son was two years and three months. Despite his love to his son, Wael said to his mother that he wants to send Moath "his son" to a martyrdom operation.

Wael was losing some bounds of his weight continuously in the last stages of his life and this thing was consisting danger at his health. He was fainting sometimes due to his work with the toxic materials, and despite this he was very happy. Finally, because of the poison in his blood, he passed out.
