Paramedics are not allowed to save Palestinians injured during clashes in Al-Bireh city - Israeli soldiers are apparently taught the "bleed to death" policy against Palestinians in all occurrences.

Childhood and Education

Qais was born in 1977. He lived in the village of Siris in the Jenin governorate in the West Bank. He completed his primary and secondary studies in Jenin schools suffering from the terrible circumstances of the occupation. Then, he studied engineering at Al-Najah University in Nablus. He was the president of the student council at the university. Qais was very active when in helping other students. He was considered a role model by his colleagues.

Qais and the journey of agony

Quis wanted to fulfill his father’s dream of becoming an engineer and taking care of the family. He achieved the first part of the dream. But the achievement was interrupted by Qais’s detention by the Palestinian Authority in 1996 and the Zionist occupation forces afterwards. In Zionist prisons, he watched the daily Zionist crimes against his people and insisted on continuing jihad against the occupation.

The leader of Ezzedeeeb Al-Qassam Brigades in the West Bank

Qais was a role model student and a role model in the community. And he was a role model in the resistance against the occupation. In 2000, Al-Aqsa Intifada started against Sharon and the Zionist occupation of Palestine and its holy places. Qais strengthened the foundations of Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades in the Northern West Bank. He oversaw the training and equipment of many mujahideen, who conducted scores of resistance operations against the Zionist occupation forces. One of these operations was the Nahariya operation which resulted in killing 4 Zionist soldiers and injuring many more. In addition, Qais commanded a number of operations targeting Zionist armored vehicles by roadside bombs. Qais and his fellow mujahideen succeeded in shattering the security of the Zionist entity.

Martyrdom

On 3 April 2002, the Zionist occupation forces assaulted the Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin as a part of its claimed campaign against terrorism. More than 200 Palestinian were killed in the Massacre of Jenin.

The Zionist forces chief of intelligence said, “If our operations in the West Bank result in the death of Qais Odwan only, we will have succeeded.” And on 5 April 2002, the occupation forces killed Qais and five fellow mujahideen after a 7-hour gun battle in the village of Tubas.
