Childhood:
Salim family emigrated from its village to the south of the OPT, to Gaza city in the middle of Gaza Strip. The return to the homeland stayed with Abdullah Salim till he martyred & he delivered the dream to his comrades.
The dream was most vivid in the mind and heart of Abdullah, who was born in1984. From his youth, Abdullah asked many questions about his homeland. He was captivated by the details of life in his homeland, and kept close to his family who told him of the former days of freedom.
Abdullah’s father taught his son well and he was known for his calm and good manners, which covered a raging desire to return to his homeland. The shy, handsome boy was nonetheless strong. He trained in the martial arts of self-defense and played other sports and his companion was the book.
He finished his study in his camp schools, he joined Al Azhar University but he didn’t manage to continue his study according to his family circumstances. Abdullah was active in many of Hamas branches.
He joined to the Muslim Brotherhood & participated in the public events and funerals of martyrs, he also participated in sports activities in the mosque, he also know Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, he was his teacher in the preparatory school.
Al Qassam Brigades:
Al Qassam leadership saw his behavior & commitment in the virtue, so they accept his request of being a member in Al Qassam Brigades, so he became a member in Gaza city in 2001.
He begins Began his way on many works that Al Qassam Brigades proud of him like:
- He participated in protecting the camp from the Zionist forces, which tried to invade it.
- He participated with his friends in ambushing the Zionist forces.
- He participated in guarding his camp from the Zionist Special Forces.
Martyrdom:
He martyred on January 15th, 2008 after he clashed with the Zionist Special Forces near Az-Zaytoun neighborhood. It should be mentioned that the Zionist forces waged a wide bloody war on Gaza civilians without a reason since the morning of December 27th, 2008, the Zionist warplanes F-16 targeted all the Palestinian police station which are civilian institutions according the IHL.
The Brigades said in its statement "The mujahed was martyred after many years of hard work and sacrifice in defending his home from the Zionist occupation.
"Al Qassam Brigades mourn the death of the Mujahedeen, reaffirms the commitment and determination to continue the resistance against the belligerent occupation forces," the Brigades said.
