Zayed was from the rare kind of people who never hesitated along the road of resistance. He pursued the occupation, and spent long days and nights resisting the occupation of the land and the people.

He was born in December 19, 1982 in the village of Marka to the south of Jenin.  He lived with his family of 15 members.  The family added to its honored history when Zayed was martyred. He was the fourth member of the family to tread the road of resistance, after 3 other family members were arrested for their resistance activities.

Jihad:

In revenge of the assassination of Ahmad Yassin, Zayed carried out an armed ambush against an occupation army patrol in Jenin. After the ambush, he joined the occupation army’s wanted list. But he managed to escape all attempts to arrest or assassinate him for three years. At the same time, he participated in many operations against occupation forces that raided Jenin regularly.

In October 2005, occupation forces raided Zayed’s home village of Marka. They intended to arrest on of Zayed’s colleagues. Hearing the news, he knew that would be next in line. So, he got out of the house where he was staying as the occupation forces were leaving his colleague’s site. He ambushed 5 soldiers, killing two and injuring the rest.

Zayed suffered a light wound in the foot during the ambush. He left the scene of the ambush; and then he got in a car and went to receive treatment. The occupation checkpoints set up to catch resistance fighters failed to catch him.

Zayed disappeared for a month and a half after the incident. And he refused to leave the area completely, insisting that he was intent to attain martyrdom.

Martyrdom

At 10:30 in the morning of December 21, 2005, seven masked men surrounded the house where Zayed was staying. Shortly afterwards, a large number of jeeps and tanks raided Jenin and began to shoot at the house. Resistance fighters from different factions resisted the raid. Six Palestinians and 2 occupation soldiers were injured.

The occupation troops stormed Zayed’s hideout. An exchange of fire was heard. The troops left after spraying Zayed with bullets. Most bullets were fired from pointblank range at the upper body.

There is no data now.
