Mohammed Deif..The Well-known name but unknown face

Mohammed Deif..The Well-known name but unknown face
21-01-2007,13:00

Mohammed Deif was born in 1960 in khan Yunis; he brought up in a contrastive family. Deif added that his life is stable despite of the chasing. His real name is "Mohammed Diab" so he gains the name "Deif" which means the "guest" because he kept moving from village to village and from place to place, so he was guest on every place he went to it.

The people who did know Muhammad in his childhood did not expect that the gentle child will be a great name in the history of Palestine. Muhammad was the young who helped others and carried the suffer of those who are beside him. He did not leave any one who needs the help and he did his duty without being in the eyes of people.

He does not like to kill , to devastate , to kidnap but he wants to have his right which was usurped by the occupation forces.

Deif, who knew he was being targeted by OF, did everything to be undercover as possible as he could. At the end of 1996, Zionist sources claimed that he escaped to Egypt, and later returned to plan martyrdom operations.

 Assassinations:

The Occupation Forces tried many times to end the Resistance Factions describing them of the "Terrorists" who kill civilians. The Occupation neglected the fact that the Palestinian resistance factions just respond at the occupation crimes and never attack without an aim.

Assassinations is one mean to get rid of the Palestinian Resistance leaders especially Deif. He survived many times from such assassinations.

First assassination:

In August 2001 OF tried to take him over by shooting a missile from apache helicopter towards the vehicle he was driven but he survived and his comrade was martyred in the try.

Second assassination:

On September 27, 2002, OF tried to assassinate it most wanted Palestinian Muhammad Deif. He escaped unscathed when a helicopter gunship fired missiles at a convoy of cars in El Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Zionist military sources raised doubts that Deif was in the area at the time of the strike.

The story is, two Apache helicopters fired at least four laser-guided  missiles at two cars traveling on a road near the camp. The cars' drivers noticed they were being tracked and drove into an open field in attempts to avoid the missiles. One car reportedly crashed into a wall and was hit by a missile. By the time the second car was hit, its occupants had succeeded in fleeing unharmed.

"We had some presumptions, but no concrete information on the identities," an unnamed senior officer told the Jerusalem Post.

Third assassination

In 2003, while the OF attempted to hit Deif in apartment, Deif and his friends escaped at the last moment. And that operation caused a lot of damage to prosperities and the civilians , for the third time he survived and no one saw him after that accident or hear from him.

Fourth assassination:

After many tryings to get rid of the General Leader of Ezzdeen Al-Qassam Brigades Muhammad Dief following the first General Leader Salah Shehada, the occupation forces squabbled how to kill that mysterious man.  Some information came to the forces that Dief was there and he wasn't there but only doubts or nightmares hit the minds of the Soldiers' chiefs.

In July 12 ,2006, the Occupation Forces committed a very disgusted crime against the Palestinian Civilians claiming that Muhammad Dief was there. They killed  nine members from one family in the district of Shiekh Ridwan in Gaza claiming that Muhammad Dief was in the place.

Abu Obaida , Al-Qassam Brigades spokesman, denied that Deif was injured saying  that "this is an attempt to cover up the fact that civilians were massacred." "It's completely untrue and we deny it completely. This is an attempt to deflect attention from the massacre of civilians by the Zionist enemy," the spokesman said.

seven people were martyred from one family , including two children. Dozens were wounded when the two houses collapsed.  18 houses beside the targeted house were damaged. The house belonged to Dr. Nabil Abu-Salmiah, a teacher in the Islamic University.

His comrades:

His senior assistant, Adnan al-Ghoul was martyred by Zionist Air Force in October 21, 2004.  Adnan al-Ghoul's son either martyred in one of the assassinations . Hamdan, one of his comrades,  was martyred in the first assassination .Dief's comrades are many. Some were martyred and some other are still alive. However, Dief is one of those who haven't clear comrades because that will make him under the danger of the Zionist assassinations.

Dief's appearance after 15 years of pursuit
In August 26, 2005,the commander-general of Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, Mohammad Deif, appeared on a video prepared by the Brigades Information Office on the occasion of the withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank, after many years of being wanted to the occupation forces. In the video, he sent a message of victory to the Palestinian people commemorating their sacrifices over the past decades
Mohammed Deif's history remains obscure, and there has always been doubt about his exact whereabouts when OF launched its failed assassination attempts.

Deformation and annoying:
In February 2006, some Zionist media outlets reported that Deif, unhappy with the truce announced by Hamas, decided to split from the group to join Al-Qaeda cells being established in the Gaza Strip. Al-Qassam Brigades denied these illogic doubts confirming that such information is to help the Occupation Forces in attacking Al-Qassam Brigades.

Arrest in the PA prisons

In 1996 , the PA had a large arresting campaign against the resistance men. Most of the mujhadeen, who were participating in the resistance against the occupation forces, were arrested according to the agreements which were held with the Israeli entity. Muhammad Dief was the first wanted man to the Palestinian Forces at that time which led by Muhammad Dahalan. Dief was detained for three years at least in Dahalan's prisons to be with the Qassam leaders who were under arrest at the time of the previous Palestinian government. Dief had a special care because of his position in the Palestinian Society. However, he did not keep silent to the people who arrested him. He fled from the prison and went again to the life of pursuit.

From that time, Muhammad Dief was unknown man to the Palestinian forces, Israel forces , and even to his own family and friends.

His leadership:

Salah Shehada was the first man who took the name " The General Leader Of Ezzdeen Al-Qassam Brigades". Shehada was one of the founders of the Military Wing of Hamas movement. Dief also one important founder of the military wing. However, the occupation forces assassinated the first general leader. The military wing can find many leaders after the martyrdom of Salah Shehada. Means there are many who can be leaders after the first leader.

Muhammad Dief took the responsibility of leading Al-Qassam Brigades but there was no declaration of this fact. However, the Zionist media published some doubts that the leader of the Qassam Brigades is Muhammad Dief. In his appearance in August, Al-Qassam Brigades declared formally that the General leader is this mysterious man.

The Only message and the only appearance

After many tryings to kill Muhammad Dief by the Occupation Forces. Dief Succeeded to overcome these traps and could change the map of the Sharon Government. They dreamed of occupying Gaza forever but that was failed when the Qassam Rockets and the Martyrdom operations compel the occupation forces to withdraw from Gaza Strip. In this great occasion, Muhammad Dief appeared for the first time in a video tap recorded by the Information Office of Al-Qassam Brigades.

Some of his famous words

To the sons of the Arab and Muslim nations:

We thank you for standing with us and supporting us in our jihad. We thank you for your benevolence in supporting the jihad and resistance in Palestine. And we ask Allah to write in your records the reward of our jihad and fight against the defeated Zionists.

To the Zionists who have usurped our land:

O you who claim the Temple of Solomon and the Star of David, we are more worthy of Solomon and David (peace be upon them). We say to you what Solomon the son of David (peace be upon them) said: “Go back to them, and be sure we shall come to them with such hosts as they will never be able to meet: We shall expel them from there in disgrace, and they will feel humbled (indeed).” (The Ants, 37).

And here you are leaving Gaza in disgrace. Do you not say in your tongue, “Leikh Le Azza,” when you mean “go to hell.” Today, you are leaving hell. And we promise you that, tomorrow, all of Palestine, with the Will of Allah, shall be a hell for you.

In the end, let us say, “Together till the liberation of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque!” “Then will they wag their heads towards thee, and say, ‘When will that be?’ Say, ‘May be it will be quite soon!’” (Al-Isra, 51).

And peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you,

Your brother,

Mohammad El-Deif (Abu Khaled)
