ZOF artillery shells slam farmland, settlers attack shepherds

Agencies – Zionist occupation forces (ZOF) opened their artillery fire at a Palestinian farmland in Farahin area east of Khan Younis to the south of the Gaza Strip on Monday.

Local sources said that the ZOF fired two artillery shells that exploded in an empty agricultural field causing material damage to nearby homes but no casualties.

ZOF troops target Palestinian farmers and fishermen on semi daily basis in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, ZOF soldiers rounded up seven Palestinian citizens from the districts of Ramallah, Al-Khalil and Jenin.

Eyewitnesses in Qabatia village, Jenin district, said that ZOF soldiers in 15 armored vehicles stormed the village in a pre-dawn raid. They added that the soldiers opened intensified fire to terrorize the citizens.

The soldiers detained two young men after holding field interrogation with their relatives, the witnesses said, adding that the soldiers searched the western cemetery in the village in search of wanted activists and weapons before evacuating the town by dawn.

For their part, Zionist armed settlers attacked Palestinian shepherds in Khirbat Um Al-Khair near Yatta town, Al-Khalil district, on Monday and prevented them from reaching a water well to bring water for their homes and cattle.

Local sources noted that foreign solidarity activists intervened to halt the settlers' assault, noting that it was the fourth such attack in a week against Khirbat Um Al-Khair, where 12 families were threatened with home demolition by the ZOF.

The ZOF troops installed a number of road barriers in Al-Khalil and nearby villages and broke into the home of a Palestinian citizen in Arub refugee camp north of the city at dawn Monday and occupied his roof.
