Name: Ra'ed Al Darabea.

Arrest day: April 22^nd,1993.

If you look at him, you will see the calm personality. He was practicing many kinds of sport, especially football. Then he became a trainer to football team. None of his relatives and his friends imagine that Ra'ed is a member in Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing to the Islamic resistance movement Hamas.

Birth

Ra'ed was born in November 12^th,1972 in Mraish village near Al Khalil city. He studied in its schools till the fourth class. His father passed out ,so he moved to continue his studying in Al Khalil.

He finished his secondary studying with a good average. Then he joined to the OU (Open University) in the religious. But he was arrested for several months. He was to be back to his studying in the university in April 22^nd,1993.

The arrest

At night, while quiet prevail around the area,  sniper  ascended the near building, Zionist special forces are surrounding his house. Suddenly one the Zionist officers asked Raed's family to be out of the house. Ra'ed was  out with his family. The Zionist officer checked the families' identities. When he saw Ra'ed's identity, he ordered the Zionist soldiers to arrest him.

The soldiers began to beat him severely with the back of their guns. The soldiers began to search the house; the searching campaign included the neighbors houses and the family barn.

Ra'ed's  mother asked the soldier why they are doing this. They claimed that they are looking for weapons. The assault continued to the early hours in the morning. The Zionist forces pulled out from the village. After a few days, the Zionist intelligence recall his brother Khalid for investigation.

Khalid denied that his Brother "Ra'ed" has any relation with preparing for a martyrdom operation. The Zionist entity prevented Khalid from working in the occupied land 1948 and from visiting his brother Ra'ed.

Inside the prison

When Ra'ed was arrested from his house, he stayed in the investigation centers for more than four months in Al Khali. Then he was moved to Al Jinaid jail near Nablus city. he stayed there for four months. Ra'ed was taken to many prison and interrogated under severe torture.

He was beaten and made to sit in painful contorted positions for weeks.

He was subjected to psychological and verbal abuse as well. The charge was resisting the occupation and wanting to be free. However,  he withstood the physical and psychological abuse and stood as proud as a mountain in front of the interrogators.

Ra'ed was accused in:

·        Belonging to Al Qassam Brigades.

·        Preparing for martyrdom operations.

After four years, the Zionist court sentenced him for 15 years. He is spending the sentence in Nafha jail.
