The Ambitious Man

Nick Name: The ambitious man.

Sentenced: 12 Years.

He is the real hero, whose ordeals usually strengthen him, who don't know the meaning of despair. 

Background:

Ashraf  Rabe'e was born in 1970 in "Ash-Shate'e" refugees' camp in Gaza. His father raised him on the ethics of Islam and morals of the holy book "Quran". He took his elementary education in the UN schools in the camp, and he stopped his study after having completed the preparatory phase in order to assist his father in their livelihood. He worked as a dressmaker in the industrial region "Erez".

During the study limited period, our prisoner was known with high morals and good behavior. He was very helpful for his fellow students and friends, he used to advise them. In the class, he was quiet, and he speaks very little; he respected his teachers and school.

In the neighborhood, where he taught the meanings of braveness and heroism, Ashraf was as servant to his people. His neighbors witnesses that he had good morals, he was sharing them all of their happy and sad events, and he was advising them.

With his parents

Our prisoner had a special relation with his parents; he was very kind with them. Whenever they wanted something he did it at once. He used to help his mother in her house tasks that he became their beloved son.

He also included his brothers and sisters in his kind treatment. He loved to see smiles on every face of his family members.

Arrest

 
On Sunday, 2/6/2002, our prisoner went to his work in Erez, where he was working there at the sewing factory. Before reaching the factory, he was attacked by a large unit of Zionist soldiers and took him after he had been monitored.  They arrested him and tied him with severely. The leaders of the occupation were very happy with his arrest.

Trial ... The charges against a prisoner

Ashraf had been submitted to the "unfair" Zionist court and was being charged that he was (preparing for the implementation of martyrdom operation - bombing at the Erez crossing point). He was sentenced by the court with detention period of 12 years.

The suffering of the captive's family

His family suffered a very severe condition like all the people of the Palestinian prisoners in the jails of the Zionist enemy. The Zionist enemy doesn't allow them to visit their son, except in rare occasions which were very scarce. They were getting out from 3:00 am until 11:00 pm. During these long hours they were subjected to harsh condition of treatment and investigation. They speak with him through (telephone) is connected between them. Nowadays, they are prevented to visit him.

 
Life in jail

Within the prison, he recites the holy Quran, and he is completing his secondary study. In spite of all attempts of the Zionist entity to fade his ambition, Ashraf became more patient and his hope to be liberated had increased.
