Sentenced: 125 Years.

Background:

Muneer Maree was born in Az-Zarqa city in Jordan. He studied there until he finished his secondary grade. From his childhood, he entered Abd Allah bin omar mosque in his neighborhood Maasoum. In the mosque, his personality was being formed. He prepared himself physically by having Karate course.   

With his Parents:

He was known with his obedience to his parents and with his smile. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him. Before he leaves Jordan to Palestine, his house became full of his friends and neighbors who came to say farewell to him. They hug him and shed tears of love upon his departure.  

Migration:

Abul Majd decided to migrate to the holy land which he feels of her pain; he has been angry when her olive trees were cut. He decided to come to Palestine to take revenge to Muslims bloods. In 1994, when Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina were being killed, he said: I wish I have a twin; one goes to Palestine and the other goes to Bosnia.

In the Islamic Bloc:

Muneer entered Palestine in 1998 and joined Al-Polytechnic university to study information systems. At that time, he joined the Islamic Bloc and worked very hard, so he became the leader of the Islamic Bloc in his third year. He worked day and night to help students and solve their problems; therefore, everyone in the university and in Hebron city loved him and they assigned him imam and orator in the mosque of the neighborhood.     

The beginning of Jihad:

Muneer was arrested many times by the security services of PA; the last one was after information saying that he shot a Zionist patrol in 2002; the intelligence society of the PA seized his Jordanian passport.

According to the Zionist accusations list, Muneer and his group prepared to attack one of the Zionist checkpoints, but the arrest of Muneer delayed the operation. When the Zionist entity started bombing Palestinian prisons to kill the detainees at the beginning of the Intifada, Muneer was released. Immediately, he started training youth on weapons and formed his Qassam group, of the martyr Abbas Al-Oweey which included Muneer Maree, Tariq Doufash and Fadi Dwaik.       

Edora settlement operation:

After a string of operation of shooting and attacking the Zionist patrols, Muneer decided to storm into Edora settlement in Hebron. He ordered Fadi and Tariq to monitor the settlement for many weeks, and he could enter the settlement wearing settler's clothes. 27/4/2002 was the date to perform the operation.

Before the dawn, they entered the settlement by cutting part of the fence. They started storming settlers houses one by one, and the settlers were running from room to another. The operation resulted in the killing of five Zionists, the injury of 13, and the martyrdom of the Mujahed Tariq Doufash who insisted to face the Zionist build ups reinforcements which arrived in the place and said: I came here to martyr, not to come back. Fadi Dwaik was arrested after one month.        

Chasing and Arrest:

After this operation, the Zionist forces intensified their chasing for Muneer; they it blew down the residence where he was living during his study. Some of the people of Hebron said that the Zionist forces were holding his photo and warning people from hiding him. The one-year chasing was hard and nice; he used to sleep in minarets, unoccupied houses and caves.

On 2/4/2003 a special forces stormed the home where Muneer and his assistant were and arrested them suddenly. Muneer tried to escape, but the huge number of the soldiers prevented. This attempt was added to the accusation list which contains 70 accusations.

Muneer stayed 110 days in the Zionist investigation rooms where he subjected to harsh physical and psychological torture led to great decrease of his weight.         

Sentence:

Court sentenced him to imprisonment for 125 years. Before the judge utters the sentence, he said to Muneer: you are terrorists and killers??? So Muneer replied him: you are the terrorists you killed the children like Iman Hejjo and Mohammed Dorra you kill women and destroy olives you expel people from their homeland be sure that there are millions of Muslims in Jordan, Eygpt, Iraq and all over the world yearn to fight you you and your country are to finish.
