The General leader of Al-Qassam Brigades

The General leader of Al-Qassam Brigades

Assassinated in July 23, 2002 during A  Zionist massacre in Gaza

In  July 22, 2002 , the general leader was assassinated and left Al-Qassam Brigades in its full power in Resisting the occupation forces. He told his wife two days before his martyrdom that “if I leave Qassam at these days, they will be great as if I were with them”.

Sheihk Salah Shehada was born in Bet Hanon village (south of Gaza strip) . His original town is Jafaa and his family came to live in Beach Camp, and then lived in Bet Hanon village.

He had his primary school from Bet Hanon and continued to have his preparatory from the same village. Then he had his third secondary certificate from Palestine school in Gaza. He couldn’t go abroad to study medicine because of the bad economic conditions. So he studied Social Services in Alexandria.

Work:

In 1979, after graduating from university, he worked as a supervisor in the social affairs in Gaza. In 1984, the general leader worked for the Islamic University of Gaza in the pupils affairs.

Political life:

Sheikh Salah Shehada was a human and did not like killing people. He is a religious a Sheikh who wanted people to go to their top life which is the way to Allah Almighty. He held a big idea to be delivered to the world that Palestine is an Islamic land and should be liberated from any enemy invading it. The Jews do not like anyone holding this idea; Salah Shehada should be arrested before doing any action. They arrested him with an empty file in 1984.

That means the charges against him were nonsense or even there were no charges. After a while, the sheikh had to shoulder the responsibility of Hamas military wing at that time. He did his best to restore the dignity of Palestinians that the Jews have been denying for a long time. He had to defend his land and his people with a few brave men who sacrificed whatever they had for the sake of Allah and their homeland. This is why the Israelis thought arresting Sheikh Salah and his followers would bring the first Intifada to its end. On the contrary it was like adding fuel to fire. The Intifada became stronger and stronger. Sheikh Salah was in jail from 1988 till 14/5/2000 when he was set free after about 12 years of administrative imprisonment.

His life:

Salah was calm boy, a handsome young, a lovely man but he did not like to see his brethren, sisters, and nation, dehumanized and killed with cold blood. Sheikh Salah was like any human who wanted to get his right so he should have a program of fighting against the enemy. He had a strong faith, an everlasting patience, and a very good obedience. So he was a big soldier to form a big military. He had a great wit when he was a child and that wit helped him to form these defenders groups. The groups grew bigger and bigger. Those groups counted on top privacy where on one interferes in others  business. The general leader himself did not know everyone who worked for him. He worked with some leaders.

He chose engineers to make bombs, healthy and wit men to hold weapons, skilled programmers to have the media work. The beginning was very difficult but the leader was patient to continue till the last breath of his life. After the killing of the boy (Muhammad Al-Durra) and killing one hundred Palestinians in a few days by the Israeli heavy armed soldiers, people of Gaza called Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades for revenge and the Sheikh was looking sadly because he had nothing to fight with. But in a few days he could evoke the calm volcano again to erupt in the face of the Zionists. Al-Qassam Brigades began to re-build the soldiers, to work day and night. The general leader began to form, train, and prepare.

In 1986, the leader Salah Shehada formed AL- Mujahidoon AL-Filstinion (the Palestinian fighters). He and the fighters began to fight against the occupiers and their spies. They did a lot to liberate their land and people.

The fighting against Jews continued till the coming of the PA. Qassam waited a while in Gaza but still continued in the west bank and the sheikh was in Jail. In September 28, 2000, the second Intifada began and called Al-Aqsa Inifada. In May, 14 , 2000 , Shehada was out of the prison.

He didn't wait to say anything and his actions appeared clearly when he offered new ways of fighting. He gathered the Qassamy soldiers, formed new people, and ordered to work silently first without any declarations. So Qassam do some of the best explosions against the occupiers and didn't declare any responsibility. In December, 2000, 10, Qassam had a communiqué of four formal militant responsibilities.

One of them was Hamdi Nisio explosion in the sea towards a torpedo. Shehada had a big role in Qassam Brigades and after a while he was the general leader of Qassam Brigades. Among the intefada , he moves a lot of people to fight against the Zionists occupiers wether from Hamas or non-Hamas guys. He prepared, followed, and stand with a lot of martyrs like M. Farahat in Gaza and many in the west bank. The Zionists accused him of being the most notorious terrorist in the middle east.

Also they said about him Salah Shehada was the most important commander of Izz al-Din al-Qassam, the military wing of the Hamas Organization. He was at the top of the wanted list amongst the members of Izz al-Din al-Qassam - the most lethal and extreme of the Palestinian terrorist organizations. This was a strike against a high-ranking terrorist with much blood on his hands. When this Israeli embassy reported these words, they did not remember the killings and masses against the innocents in Gaza and the west bank. They did not mention Jenin and Dir Yasin , they did report the urges from the PA. And even Hamas sometimes that if you stop killing our children, we will stop killing your women and children.

Martyrdom: the General Leader left at the time of power

He told his wife two days before his martyrdom that if I leave Qassam at these days, they will be great as if I were with them. The leader had a sense that he would leave this world to be in the everlasting world. So he worked day and night to get the highest degree in Paradise. On Monday, 22 July 2002, the departure became a fact and to be done. The Palestinian Center for Human Rights, Gaza reported that  At approximately 23:55 on Monday, 22 July 2002, an Israeli F-16 fighter jet launched a missile at a 150-square-meter, two-story apartment building located in the densely populated al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza city. Sheikh Salah Shehada, who is wanted by the Israeli occupying forces, and his family were living on the upper floor of the building. The missile directly hit the apartment building, totally destroying it and one other house. Four other homes sustained serious damage. Fifteen Palestinian civilians, including 9 children, the youngest of whom was only 2-months-old, were killed. Two of the wounded are in a critical condition.

After this wicked murder, the Zionists thought that they got rid of Qassam Rockets, Martyrdom operations, and Zionist Jews. However, Qassam Brigades get their high power when a leader travels to his everlasting life. For example, when Ayaash was martyred the Zionists thought that Qassam Brigades will stop these martyrdom operations but the operations developed
