Each year, the observers used to describe the anniversary of the foundation of Hamas movement by saying that it comes "under very complex and difficult situations"; as if the anniversary had come under a comfortable situation over the past 21 years.

Since its inception, Hamas (which announced yesterday the start of celebrations of the anniversary) has been walking in the fields of "thorns and mines," as if this is its fate which it had to walk through.

Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of this anniversary is that it comes with Fatah admittance of the failure of compromise solutions, the fall of the illusions of peace and negotiations, which confirms the correctness of the strategy of "Hamas" based on "resistance".

Also, a big scandal, that cannot be dated as an isolate event, preceded the anniversary when the Palestinian presidency tried to save (Israel) from the condemnation in the institutions of the United Nations on the crimes committed during the war in Gaza. This event undoubtedly affected the mood of the opinion Palestinian public.

This anniversary has coincided with the completion of negotiations, the exchange deal, which goes amid secrecy, which inevitably will increase popularity of the movement in the Palestinian street and the Arab and Muslim world.

And do not forget that it comes after the movement had withstood before the winds of war waged by (Israel) a year ago, during which the Zionist entity used great amount of power, targeted primarily the elimination of the movement, which will surely resonate with the policy makers of the larger countries, and will be translated - even after a while - in their approach to the movement.

Of course, all of this was preceded by a rare steadfastness in the face of the attempts to drop the movement's experience in government, during the past four years, through the use of all unimaginable means and methods, which do not have the space to mention, and which were witnessed by the Palestinian citizen moment by moment.

The above will be - in my opinion - the engine that will lead "Hamas" during the next few years toward the leadership of the Palestinian people as an alternative to traditional leadership, which led the Palestinian national project during the previous phase; where all the indications point out that the movement is qualified to lead the Palestinian people after it had proved throughout its history that it is the most concerned of the interests of the Palestinian people, and sacrificed its founding leaders and thousands of cadres and prisoners for the sake of the Palestinian people.

As for the major challenges facing the movement today, it may be the experience in the governance of the Gaza Strip, where it inherited a decomposed governmental system, and it suffers from a tightened siege made its priorities in conducting the people's daily lives with minimal possibilities.

As it is known, any government in the world - in spite of their full potential - will not be able to satisfy the public, how can the government under siege, and does not have the minimum ingredients does? This caused a great injustice for the movement as it is loaded with the burden of problems faced by government as a result the blockade.

From my humble opinion, I believe that the movement is working to separate itself - and the organization of movement - and the government; the government is a government of the people, do not necessarily represent the movement; it is composed of officials and staff from all directions, so why should the movement bear alone the burden of failure of others?

Today, Hamas is committed, having absorbed dozens of shocks, to address deeper and broader the problems of the people, by employing the available better and opening the door for innovation and creativity in alleviating the suffering of the citizens.
