Al Nasser Salah Addin Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, took responsibility on Monday evening for launching a homemade projectile towards the Naqab and Sderot. In a statement the brigades said, "A group was able to hurl a Nasser-3 projectile at Sderot despite the continuous overhead presence of Zionist fighter jets." The statement also referred to the Zionist sources admitting that a projectile landed on Sderot and that alarm sirens were sounded, but that no damage was caused.
